The Zaku II model features the iconic mono-eye and distinctive silhouette of Zeon's mass-produced mobile suit. This guide covers assembly of the approximately 30 pieces, including the heat hawk and machine gun accessories.
Step 1: Part Preparation and Sorting
Sort parts by body section. Check all joint connections and clean any print artifacts.
Troubleshooting
Mono-eye Not Rotating
Ensure the eye unit is properly seated in its track. It should rotate freely within the head without binding.
Shoulder Shields Too Heavy
The shoulder connection is designed to support the weight. If drooping occurs, check that the shoulder joint is fully snapped together.
Stability Issues When Standing
Adjust the ankle and knee joints for a wider stance. The Zaku II has a forward-leaning design that requires proper weight distribution.
Weapons Won't Stay in Hand
The hand unit may need slight adjustment. Gently warm with hot water and reshape the fingers to better grip the weapon handles.
Pro Tips
- The mono-eye can be painted with reflective red paint for an authentic look
- Position the legs with a slight bend for a more natural stance
- The heat hawk can be displayed in hand or stored on the skirt armor
- For advanced builders, panel lining with a fine black marker adds depth to the surface details
